Spadina House, Art Deco house museum in Toronto, Canada

The three-story mansion features period rooms decorated in 1920s and 1930s styles, with original furnishings and decorative elements from the Austin family collection.

James Austin, founder of The Dominion Bank, purchased the 80-acre property in 1866 and transformed it into a grand estate for three generations.

The museum preserves artifacts that demonstrate Toronto's financial and social development through the Austin family's contributions to banking and commerce.

Guided tours of the house operate Wednesday through Sunday, with multiple daily sessions starting at 12:15 PM during weekdays and 11:15 AM on weekends.

The house name derives from the Anishnaabemowin word ishpadina, meaning highland, reflecting its location atop a natural escarpment overlooking Toronto.
