Agincourt

Agincourt is a residential neighborhood in Scarborough that stretches between Kennedy and Markham Roads along Sheppard Avenue. The area contains numerous Asian shopping centers, apartment complexes, and commercial strips with shops and dining establishments spread throughout.

The Knox Presbyterian Church, built in 1846 and rebuilt in 1872, stands at Sheppard and Midland Avenues as the original center of the former settlement. This church marks the historic core around which the residential area grew.

Chinese, South Asian, and Indo-Pakistani communities shape the daily life through markets, restaurants, and shops displaying multilingual signs throughout the streets. The food vendors, cultural festivals, and business signs create a distinctly multicultural environment that visitors naturally encounter.

The Agincourt Recreation Centre offers swimming pools and fitness programs for local residents and visitors. A nearby GO Transit station connects the neighborhood to downtown Toronto and other parts of the Greater Toronto Area.

The Agincourt Beauty lilac, known for its large flowers, grows in gardens throughout the neighborhood. This flowering shrub variety was developed locally and remains part of the area's horticultural heritage.
