Big Apple

Big Apple is a giant apple-shaped structure along Highway 401 with an observation platform accessible from multiple levels. Inside you'll find a bakery, restaurant, gift shop, and children's playground.

The building was constructed in 1984 when unusual roadside architecture served to capture the attention of highway travelers. It emerged during an era when such distinctive structures became part of Canada's roadside culture.

The structure reflects the apple-growing legacy of the region through its shape and reminds visitors of how fruit farming shaped the local economy. Walking through, you notice how the building celebrates this agricultural connection.

The site sits directly on Highway 401 and is easily accessible via Exit 497. Parking is available on-site, and the facilities welcome visitors of all ages with dedicated areas for children.
