Meridian Theatres at Centrepointe features a main stage auditorium with 954 seats and a studio theatre accommodating up to 234 guests.
The theatre opened in 1988 as part of the Ben Franklin Place civic complex and became part of Ottawa's municipal assets after the 2001 city amalgamation.
The venue presents diverse performances including musical theatre, dance productions, comedy shows, and concerts while supporting local community theatre groups throughout the year.
The theatre maintains a full-time manager, support staff, and volunteer team who serve as ushers, with technical support from International Alliance of Stage workers.
In 2019, the studio theatre received the name Les Lye Studio Theatre to honor the contributions of the local actor and broadcaster.
