Concord, Industrial district in Vaughan, Canada
Concord is an industrial and residential neighborhood in Vaughan north of Toronto, consisting mainly of factory areas and housing developments. The district spreads along major highways with a flat, practical layout featuring functional buildings and transportation infrastructure.
A railway station of the Northern Railway of Canada was established nearby in 1853, shaping early development in the area. John Duncan later created the postal service, which gave the settlement its name and became the foundation for the district.
This neighborhood draws residents from many backgrounds who share daily spaces and participate in community gatherings at local recreation centers. Shops and public areas reflect the area's cultural diversity through different businesses and neighborhood connections.
The area connects well through Highways 400 and 407 for those traveling by car. Future public transit will improve accessibility once the Concord GO Centre opens, making it easier to reach by train.
The MacMillan Yard, operated by Canadian National Railway, functions as one of the region's largest freight handling facilities where cargo trains are sorted and organized. This rail facility remains largely unseen by residents but forms a significant part of the neighborhood's working infrastructure.
