Long Branch, Residential neighborhood in Toronto, Canada.

Long Branch is a residential neighborhood in Toronto that stretches along Lake Ontario's shoreline and is defined by tree-lined streets, waterfront parks, and a commercial core along Lake Shore Boulevard. The area blends residential character with recreation and provides direct access to the water's edge.

The land was shaped by an 1797 land grant to Colonel Samuel Smith, who built a residence at the corner of 41st Street and Lakeshore Boulevard. This early settlement laid the foundation for the area's later development as a residential neighborhood.

The neighborhood draws residents and visitors together through regular events, particularly with a Christmas parade in December and celebrations along Lake Shore Boulevard. These gatherings shape community life and create spaces where people connect and celebrate together.

The Long Branch GO Station and streetcar loop provide direct connections to downtown Toronto and make it easy to navigate through the neighborhood. Marie Curtis Park is a central spot for beach access and recreational facilities near the water.

From 1915 to 1919, the site hosted Canada's first airfield, the Long Branch Aerodrome, which served as a training center for pilots. This overlooked aviation history shows how the place evolved from a pioneering project into a quiet residential area.
