Point Abino Light Tower, National historic lighthouse on Lake Erie in Fort Erie, Canada.

Point Abino Light Tower is a lighthouse in Fort Erie standing 30 meters tall above Lake Erie, constructed from white concrete with red trim and classical architectural details. The base includes a fog alarm building and spaces that once housed the lightkeeper, forming a complete maritime facility.

The tower was constructed between 1917 and 1918 by the Department of Marine and Fisheries in response to increased shipping activity following the completion of the Welland Canal. This project reflected the growing importance of lake commerce during the early 20th century.

The lighthouse serves as a landmark that reflects the maritime heritage of Lake Erie and the region's connection to water transportation. Visitors can see how this structure was integral to daily life and commerce on the lake.

The site is accessible by car with parking available near the lighthouse grounds. Weather at the lake can change quickly, so dress in layers and bring wind-resistant clothing for a comfortable visit.

The lighthouse still uses its original third-order Fresnel lens and maintains a distinctive flashing pattern that ships recognize from miles away. This working technology demonstrates how maritime equipment from over a century ago continues to guide vessels today.
