St.-Jakobs-Kirche, Protestant church in Basel, Switzerland

St.-Jakobs-Kirche is a church in Basel whose west nave was rebuilt in 1894 on its old side walls, with a double-sided transept and an altar room added to the east. The western porch was demolished in that campaign. The exterior wall carries a fresco and a plaque commemorating the 1444 Battle of St. Jakob an der Birs.

The building was founded over 900 years ago as a chapel for pilgrims traveling to pray for protection from Saint James. Over the centuries it developed into a major church structure in the city.
