Old château

The old château is an 18th-century residential building in Riggisberg featuring stone walls and traditional Swiss construction methods. Today it serves as an administrative facility and sits near the center of the municipality.

The building dates from the 18th century and belonged to the Erlach family for about 400 years before changing hands in 1798 during a period of political upheaval. Over the following century, it went through several different uses in the community.
