Parsenn, Ski resort in Davos Klosters, Switzerland
Parsenn is a ski area between Davos and Klosters with around 100 kilometers of slopes at elevations between 800 and 2800 meters. The terrain offers wide runs for different skill levels and connects the two towns through multiple cable cars and lifts.
Four English tourists recognized the skiing potential of this mountain in 1895, describing a run from the Weissfluh summit down to Küblis. This early discovery established the area as a pioneering destination for skiing in Switzerland.
The Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research at Weissfluhjoch sits within the ski area as a visible reminder of how mountains are studied and protected. This presence shapes how visitors understand the relationship between winter sports and the science that keeps them safe.
The area is easily reached from Davos or Klosters and sits centrally in the valley. Paths connect the different slopes and lift stations, making it straightforward to move around and explore different parts of the terrain.
The Furka 6-seater chairlift installed in 2017 moves about 2500 people per hour from Gruobenalp to Parsennfurgga with heated seats and protective covers. This modern addition shows how even established ski areas continue to upgrade their equipment.
