Schwyberg, Mountain summit in Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland

The name Schwyberg is the Fribourg dialect form of Schweinsberg (pig mountain); maps before the 1950s used the standard German form, while modern maps follow the local Sense district pronunciation. The ridge lies in the Sensler German-speaking area, on the territory of Plaffeien and Plasselb.

The best season for hiking is spring through autumn when trails are dry and well-maintained. Weather conditions can change rapidly at higher elevations, so proper footwear and layered clothing are essential.
