Richti Wallisellen, Mixed-use development in Wallisellen, Switzerland.
Richti Wallisellen is a mixed-use development in Wallisellen that combines housing and office space on a single site. Seven buildings with five stories each are arranged around green inner courtyards and connected by the Richtiarkade covered street.
The site was previously an industrial area before Allreal acquired the property in 2001. The transformation took place between 2010 and 2014 according to a master plan that reimagined the space as a residential and working neighborhood.
The site brings together residential and office spaces in a single neighborhood where people live and work side by side. You can see how the design encourages movement between different zones through covered passages and open courtyards.
The site sits directly next to Wallisellen station with good public transportation connections. The layout with clear pathways makes it easy to navigate, and most areas are accessible on foot.
The project uses approximately 220 geothermal boreholes and was among the first in Switzerland to meet stringent energy standards. This system demonstrates how heating and cooling can work without relying on fossil fuels.
