Bollenwees is a mountain pasture at roughly 1450 meters elevation, surrounded by the peaks of the Alpstein range. The mountain inn provides lodging for around 145 guests in rooms and dormitory spaces.
The plateau has been the site of alpine farming since medieval times, when herders drove their cattle to graze during summer months. This pastoral tradition took root here and shaped the landscape over centuries.
