Scie et moulin de Sarreyer

The Scie et moulin de Sarreyer features both a sawmill and mill system that demonstrates traditional wood processing and grain grinding methods in Val de Bagnes.

Constructed on March 9, 1837, by a village consortium, the facility operated with a vertical wheel that powered both sawing and milling operations until its closure in 1950.

The museum preserves the industrial heritage of Val de Bagnes through exhibits of historical machinery, tools, and documentation of local milling practices.

Visitors can participate in guided tours that explain the functioning of the water-powered mechanisms and observe demonstrations of traditional milling techniques.

The facility employs a single vertical wheel system that simultaneously powers the sawmill, two flour mills, and an apple crusher through ingenious mechanical connections.
