Sanming

Sanming is a prefecture-level city located in Fujian Province in eastern China. It spreads across a mountainous region and functions as a major regional administrative and commercial hub with modern urban zones surrounded by more rural outlying areas.

The city developed as a regional administrative center during China's modern expansion and was formally established as an administrative unit in 1934. Its importance grew through industrial development and infrastructure expansion throughout the 20th century.

Visitors should note that the city covers a large area with dispersed attractions and requires private transportation or local transit for exploration. Spring and autumn offer the most pleasant weather conditions for visiting and moving around.
