Ji'an Yalu River Border Railway Bridge, Railway border bridge across Yalu River between Ji'an, China and Manpo, North Korea.
The Ji'an Yalu River Border Railway Bridge crosses the Yalu River, connecting Ji'an in China with Manpo in North Korea on a single track. The crossing carries freight between the two countries and is one of the few direct rail links along this border.
The bridge was built in 1939 during the period when Japan controlled both Korea and the Manchukuo region. After the end of World War II and the establishment of separate governments on each side of the river, the crossing continued to serve trade and transport.
The bridge holds different names in local languages, known as 集安鸭绿江国境铁路大橋 in Chinese and 집안압록강국경철도대교 in Korean, reflecting its cross-border nature.
The bridge is not open to the public and can only be viewed from the riverbanks on either side. The Chinese side in Ji'an offers the most accessible viewpoint, with the riverbank easy to reach on foot.
During the Korean War the bridge was attacked several times but repaired and put back into service each time. It remains one of only a handful of active physical connections between China and North Korea.
