Enchanted Storybook Castle

The Enchanted Storybook Castle is a structure in Shanghai Disneyland Park that rises 60 meters above the grounds with multiple towers and intricate architectural details, including golden peony finials. It functions as the park's focal point, housing attractions, character dining venues, and interactive experiences throughout its interior spaces.

The castle opened on June 16, 2016, and was the tallest Disney castle upon its completion. It surpassed the previous record held by Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World in Florida.

The central tower displays a golden peony sculpture, while additional spires feature magnolia flowers and crowns, reflecting Shanghai's local elements in the castle design. The architectural details blend Western fairy tale traditions with Eastern floral symbols, creating a space that speaks to visitors from both sides of the world.

Visitors can explore the castle throughout the day, as it is accessible and offers various activities ranging from attractions to dining options. Arriving early is advisable, as crowds tend to gather during peak hours and waiting times can become lengthy.

Rather than focusing on a single fairy tale character, the castle celebrates all Disney princesses through multiple exhibits and entertainment spaces. This approach to character representation differs from other Disney parks worldwide, where a single castle typically tells one specific story.
