Charlottenburg Palace, Royal summer residence in Berlin, Germany
The palace exhibits multiple architectural styles across its several wings, including extensive Baroque elements, Rococo ornaments, and Neoclassical features.
Built in 1695 for Sophie Charlotte, wife of Frederick I of Prussia, the palace underwent numerous expansions by different architects throughout the 18th century.
The palace contains an extensive collection of royal artifacts, including period furniture, paintings, porcelain collections, and ceremonial silver tableware from Prussian history.
Visitors can purchase combination tickets that grant access to all museum sections within the palace complex, including the Old Palace and New Wing.
The palace gardens feature a classical temple mausoleum containing the tomb of Queen Louise, with a marble sculpture created by Christian Daniel Rauch.
