Mitsubishi Electric Halle, Concert hall in Oberbilk, Düsseldorf, Germany
Mitsubishi Electric Halle is a multi-purpose hall in Oberbilk, Düsseldorf, consisting of four separate event spaces covering approximately 3,900 square meters (42,000 square feet) in total. The building can accommodate up to 7,500 people at once and offers both fixed and flexible areas for different event formats.
The building opened in 1971 as Philips Halle, named after the Dutch sponsor at the time. In April 2011, the venue received its current name after the Japanese company Mitsubishi Electric acquired the naming rights.
The venue takes its name from the Japanese corporation that became its main sponsor in 2011, giving the building an international identity. Visitors see the logo prominently displayed on the facade, while inside the space regularly hosts concerts, trade fairs and sporting events that draw people from across the region.
Visitors arriving by public transport will find Düsseldorf-Oberbilk station very close by, from where several S-Bahn lines and trams run into the city center. For those arriving by car, around 1,800 parking spaces are available around the site, making access easier even during larger events.
The hall became one of the first event venues in Germany to receive Green Globe Certification for sustainable operations. In addition to the indoor spaces, a covered outdoor area offers additional options for open-air formats in good weather, combining sheltered space with fresh air.
