Ipf

Mount Ipf reaches 668 meters in elevation and features a flattened peak surrounded by stone walls, ditches, and extensive ramparts spanning 180 meters in diameter.

Archaeological findings indicate continuous habitation from 1200 BC to 300 BC, encompassing the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and early Celtic La Tene periods.

The mountain served as a central power location during the early Iron Age Hallstatt period, facilitating trade connections between ancient Greece and Italy.

Several hiking trails lead to the summit, allowing visitors to examine the prehistoric fortifications while experiencing views of the Ostalbkreis district.

The northern slope contains distinct geological formations named Der Kessel, Die Pfanne, and Der Löffel, which connect to the defensive rampart system.
