Ahnepark

Ahnepark is a public park in Vellmar featuring a central lake, sports courts, and extensive walking paths through varied terrain. Visitors will find table tennis and basketball courts, dining options, and multiple entry points spread throughout the grounds.

The park opened to the public on June 21, 1986, establishing itself as a central recreational space for Vellmar. Over time it has evolved through artistic additions and community activities.

Sculptures created during international art symposiums line the Märchenlandweg path, serving as an outdoor gallery. These artworks reflect how the space has been shaped by visiting artists over the years.

The park has seven entry points, restroom facilities, a restaurant, and parking areas for visitor convenience. Wear comfortable shoes as the paths traverse varied terrain and can accommodate lengthy walks.

A miniature steam railway operates during summer months on the grounds, managed by a local railway club. This small-scale train ride offers a different perspective of the park for families and rail enthusiasts.
