Alte Waage, Cultural heritage monument in Leer, Germany.
The Alte Waage stands as a two-story brick building with a double hipped roof in Dutch Baroque architectural style at Neue Straße 1.
The building dates from 1714, replacing an earlier wooden structure that served as the city's weighing station since 1570 near the Leda River.
The structure represents the last remaining example of Dutch classical Baroque architecture in the East Frisia region of Lower Saxony.
The historical weighing house now functions as a restaurant named 'Zur Waage und Börse' while maintaining its architectural character.
The Society for Heritage Protection and Local History acquired the building in 1921 and continues to maintain ownership of this structure.
