Ochsenhausen Abbey, Benedictine abbey in Ochsenhausen, Germany.
The former imperial abbey complex includes multiple buildings with Baroque architecture, a prominent church, and extensive gardens near the Krummbach Stream.
Founded in 1093 as a priory under St. Blaise's Abbey, the monastery gained independence in 1391 and achieved territorial sovereignty status in 1495.
The buildings now house the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Music Academy, where students study and perform classical compositions in historical surroundings.
The abbey complex opens daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with guided tours available in German and English through the tourist office.
A plowing ox discovered a buried treasure chest from an abandoned nunnery, leading to the establishment of the monastery on this location.
