Fürstenried Palace, Baroque palace in southwest Munich, Germany
The palace features a central structure complemented by two pavilions, extending to the north and south of the main building.
Joseph Effner constructed the palace between 1715 and 1717 for Elector Max Emanuel, transforming it from a hunting lodge into a residence.
The building holds the Catholic Retreat Hostel for spiritual exercises since 1925, serving as a center for religious contemplation and education.
Located in the Thalkirchen-Obersendling-Forstenried-Fürstenried-Solln district, the palace includes facilities adapted for visitors with mobility requirements.
Pope Benedict XVI walked through the palace grounds while considering his religious vocation before his ordination as a deacon in 1950.
