Tresor, Techno nightclub in Mitte, Germany.
Tresor is a techno club inside a former power plant, with multiple dance areas spread across different floors. The spaces connect through industrial hallways displaying exposed metal and concrete elements that reflect the building's original factory function.
The club began in 1991 inside a bank vault space and became an important hub for electronic music in Berlin. Its move to the power station in 2007 allowed expansion across multiple floors and established it as a larger venue for techno culture.
The club serves as a gathering point for electronic music enthusiasts who come to experience different sounds across multiple levels. The industrial setting shapes how visitors move through the space and interact with the music in each room.
The venue is best visited at night and involves walking through multiple levels, as the rooms are spread across different floors. Wearing comfortable shoes is helpful, and leaving time to explore the different spaces and their varied music styles is worthwhile.
The building preserves an old bank vault door from the club's earlier years and has integrated it into the current design. This artifact links the history of two locations and shows how the venue carries its past into the present.
