St. Lawrence, Gothic church in Nuremberg, Germany
The sandstone structure extends 91 meters in length and reaches 80 meters high with dual spires flanking a nine-meter rose window on its west facade.
Construction of the church started in 1250, with the nave completed by 1400 and the late German Gothic choir section finished between 1439 and 1477.
The interior holds medieval treasures including the Angelic Salutation carving by Veit Stoss and a tabernacle created by sculptor Adam Kraft depicting his self-portrait.
Located at Lorenzer Platz 1, the church opens daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with extended hours on Thursdays until 21:00 and reduced hours on Sundays.
Three organs grace the church interior, including the main instrument rebuilt in 2003 with five manuals and the historical Stephans Organ from 1862.
