Narrenschiff, Bronze fountain sculpture in central Nuremberg, Germany.
The Narrenschiff stands 3.6 meters tall and features two fool masks at the front and rear of a boat-shaped structure.
The fountain design originates from Albrecht Dürer's woodcut illustrations created for Sebastian Brant's 1497 literary work Das Narrenschiff.
The sculpture contains figures representing different human characteristics through scenes depicting Adam and Eve, violence, and environmental themes.
Located between Museumsbrücke, Spitalgasse, and Plobenhofstraße, the fountain remains accessible throughout the pedestrian zone of Nuremberg.
Despite being designed as a water feature, this sculpture remains a dry fountain after the cultural committee rejected plans for water implementation in 1990.
