The Schöner Brunnen rises 19 meters high, featuring an octagonal structure decorated with 40 colored figures arranged across multiple tiers.
Heinrich Beheim constructed this medieval fountain between 1385 and 1396, establishing it as a central water source for the Hauptmarkt community.
The fountain displays sculptures of philosophers, religious figures, and historical characters, representing the social hierarchy of the Holy Roman Empire.
Visitors can access the fountain at any time in the main market square, where two brass rings integrated into the iron lattice await exploration.
The structure contains 40 polychrome figures spread across different levels, including representations of the seven liberal arts and seven electors.
