Bakelite museum Kierspe

The Bakelite Museum occupies the Old District Office building in Kierspe, displaying more than 5000 objects made from early synthetic materials.

Established in 2003, this museum preserves the legacy of Bakelite manufacturing in the region through the collection of producer Carl-Heinz Vollmann.

The exhibits document the transformation of household items and industrial products following the introduction of synthetic materials in the early 1900s.

The museum welcomes visitors every Wednesday between 15:00 and 18:00, remaining closed during German public holidays.

The collection includes numerous artifacts from Reppel & Vollmann, a local company that specialized in Bakelite production during the material's industrial peak.
