Fernmeldeturm Koblenz, Television tower in Kühkopf, Germany.
Fernmeldeturm Koblenz is a television and radio transmission tower made of concrete located in the Koblenz area. It stands approximately 261 meters tall and serves purely as a technical broadcasting facility without any public access areas.
Construction of the tower took place between 1974 and 1976 under the supervision of the German Federal Post Office Ministry. It was built during a period when the Federal Republic was modernizing its broadcasting infrastructure.
The tower was originally designed to include a public viewing platform and restaurant, but these plans were never realized and the structure remained a purely technical facility. Today it serves broadcasting companies and is closed to visitors.
The tower sits atop the Kühkopf hill at an elevation of about 384 meters and is not accessible from the outside. Visitors can view the structure from scenic spots in the surrounding area.
The tower broadcasts digital television signals using DVB-T2 technology, providing modern reception to the entire region. Early plans included a public viewing platform with a restaurant, but these were never realized.
