Burg Eckelskirche

The fortress stands at 474 meters elevation on Wollenberg mountain, featuring circular stone walls spanning 100 meters in diameter with remaining trenches.

The castle ruins date back to the Ottonian period at the end of the Early Middle Ages, with stone walls later repurposed for Michelbach's Martin Church.

A notable stone mound in the northeast section contains two large stone slabs that researchers identify as potential ancient altar or ceremonial surfaces.

The site presents visible wall and ditch remnants across 0.87 hectares, with maximum dimensions of 124 meters east to west and 94 meters north to south.

The northeastern section contains a stone hill measuring 20 meters in length, 6 meters in width, and 1.5 meters in height with preserved stone plates.
