Burgruine

Burgruine is a medieval castle ruin located on a hilltop near Lichtenberg in Bavaria. The site spreads across a large area with preserved stone walls, arches, and foundation structures that visitors can see as they explore.

The fortress was built around 1180 by Duke Henry the Lion to protect the region against rivals. In 1552, cannons destroyed the structure, and it was never rebuilt after that.
