Burgruine Pfannenstiel, Donautal, Medieval castle ruin in Beuron, Germany.
The castle remains include a rectangular residential tower, walls measuring 2.7 meters thick, and remnants of a moat on a hilltop location.
Built during the second half of the 13th century for the Counts of Hohenberg, the castle became abandoned by 1400 and transferred to the Lords of Urbach.
Local narratives tell of a knight's daughter who perished in the castle after ordering a servant to drown her younger brother during a lightning-induced fire.
The castle ruins stand at 804.3 meters above sea level, with access paths starting from the eastern plateau known as Hart between Danube and Bara valleys.
The southeastern wall maintains a breach measuring 2.5 meters in thickness and reaches a height of 7 meters, marking the most substantial remaining structure.
