Burgruine Berneck mit Buschelkapelle, Castle ruin in Deggingen, Germany.

The remains of Berneck Castle include two concentric moats, overgrown wall sections, and the Buschel Chapel built within the former fortress area.

Built around 1250, Berneck Castle first appeared in records in 1288 under Count Konrad of Kirchberg and was abandoned by 1350.

The Buschel Chapel, constructed in 1847 within the castle ruins, houses a life-sized Madonna statue from approximately 1730.

The castle ruins are accessible through an Alb Association path, requiring only a 5-minute walk from the nearby settlement.

The inner castle area measures 50 by 40 meters, while the entire castle grounds occupy a space of 70 by 70 meters at 746 meters altitude.
