Christkönig-Kirche, Romanesque Revival church in Hauenstein, Germany
Christkönig-Kirche is a Romanesque Revival church featuring two towers constructed from red sandstone. The interior houses a Johannes Klais organ from 1942 with 40 registers spread across three manuals and pedals.
Construction began in 1931 as the local shoe manufacturing industry drove population growth in the community. The Romanesque Revival structure was completed during the 1930s.
The central fresco depicts Christ as Pantocrator seated on a globe and surrounded by heavenly figures and saints. This religious imagery defines the visual character of the interior space.
The church is located on Marienstrasse 127 and accessed via steps between the two towers from street level. Visitors should plan their visit around service times or announced open hours.
The central fresco was created by artist Felix Baumhauer in 1932 and demonstrates skilled religious painting from that era. Its detailed execution reveals the high craftsmanship standards of the period.
