Büttgen

Located at an elevation of 43 meters, Büttgen forms part of Kaarst municipality within the Rhein-Kreis Neuss district of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The settlement, first documented as Budica in the 8th century, developed around a medieval church constructed during the middle of the 12th century.

The district maintains regular seasonal festivals and community gatherings that connect residents through local traditions and neighborhood activities throughout the year.

The railway station, opened in 1868, provides direct S-Bahn connections to Mönchengladbach and Düsseldorf with services running every 20 minutes during weekday peak times.

Jan von Werth, a notable cavalry general during the Thirty Years' War, was born in Büttgen in 1591 and left provisions in his will to support local residents.
