Darsser Ort, Promontory and geotope in Born auf dem Darß, Germany.

Darsser Ort is the northern tip of the Darß peninsula, featuring fine sandy beaches, dunes, and sediment layers created by sea currents over many centuries. The landscape consists of low coastal formations where sand constantly moves and reshapes the shoreline.

The area developed over centuries through natural coastal processes as sea currents transported sand and shaped new landmasses. A lighthouse was built in the 19th century to support growing maritime activity in the Baltic Sea.

The area holds meaning for birdwatchers and nature lovers who come to observe migrating species in their natural habitat. Local guides often share stories about the seasonal movements of cranes and other birds that pass through the region.

The whole area is reachable only on foot, by bicycle or by horse-drawn carriage from Prerow; motor traffic is largely limited to the national park administration. A strict path rule applies because of rare plants and breeding seabirds, and excursions off the trails need a special permit. The 35-metre lighthouse from 1847/1848 can be climbed at certain times, and a circular trail passes the Natureum and the almost untouched beaches.

The 1847/48 lighthouse, 35 metres tall, stands beside a former lifeboat shed where the DGzRS kept a rowing boat and rocket apparatus from the mid-19th century. From 1962 the NVA ran a manoeuvre harbour here and the whole area was closed to the public; the harbour shut for good on 15 October 2023.
