ZB MED - Information Centre for Life Sciences

Established in 1973, the center emerged from the merger of medical libraries, including a 1908 hospital collection from the Academy of Practical Medicine.

The institution serves as Germany's central specialist library for medicine, health sciences, and agricultural research, supporting academic communities across the nation.

The Cologne facility opens its reading rooms from Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, offering access to over 30,000 electronic publications.

Through its PUBLISSO platform, the center enables researchers to publish their scientific findings and preserves digital research data for future reference.
