Kirchenruine St. Laurentius

The church ruins feature thick stone walls reaching 1.5 meters, with remnants of both Romanesque and Gothic architectural elements from different construction periods.

During the Thirty Years' War, the stones from this church were removed and reused for constructing other religious buildings in Münden.

The excavation between 1993 and 1996 uncovered foundation structures, ceramics, animal bones, coins, and remains of eight children from the 12th century.

The site contains a modern art installation with two granite stones, including an upper stone that functions as a rainwater-collecting baptismal font.

The foundations remained hidden under 60 centimeters of soil until construction work revealed the medieval structure in the 1990s.
