Ostpark

The 56-hectare green space features a central 3.5-hectare lake with an island, surrounded by walking paths, sports facilities, and grassy hills.

The park's construction began in 1973 following the 1962 decision to create a recreational area for the new Neuperlach district development.

The Michaeligarten beer garden on the lake's northern shore accommodates 3,000 visitors, maintaining Munich's outdoor dining traditions.

Visitors can participate in various activities including ice skating on the lake during winter, barbecuing in designated areas, and using volleyball courts.

In the mid-1970s, the park contained a small summer ski jumping facility with a K-point of 15 meters.
