Ostpark

Ostpark is a large recreational park in Munich's Neuperlach district, centered around a lake surrounded by walking paths, open grass areas, and sports facilities. The grounds offer different zones for walking, playing, and relaxing.

The park was created in the 1970s as a green space for the newly developing Neuperlach neighborhood. It was designed from the start to provide recreational space for the growing population of the area.

A large beer garden sits on the northern shore, inviting people to gather and linger over drinks and food. It reflects how locals here traditionally enjoy their leisure time outdoors.

The park is easy to reach on foot and navigate, with clear, wide paths throughout the grounds. Visitors can use the lake area during warmer months, while the grass areas remain accessible year-round for various activities.

In the 1970s, a small summer ski jumping hill operated here for just a few years. This unusual facility shows how experimental the park's original designers were in creating diverse activities.
