Städtisches Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium, Public gymnasium in Neuperlach, Germany.
The Städtisches Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium is a public secondary school in the Neuperlach area of Munich's Ramersdorf-Perlach district. The building was designed by architects Bernhard von Busse and Eberhard Schunck and features a raw concrete structure typical of the school buildings of that era.
The school was founded in 1970, during a period when Munich built nine new secondary schools as part of a large expansion program between 1967 and 1973. The current building was completed in 1975 and is now listed as an architectural heritage monument.
The school is named after Werner von Siemens, the German inventor and industrialist, which reflects its focus on science and technology. Alongside Latin, students can choose Chinese as a foreign language, which sets it apart from most other schools in Munich.
The school is on Quiddestrasse, close to Ostpark, and easy to reach by public transport. Since it is an active school, the building can only be viewed from the outside during regular school hours.
The building was used as a filming location for several German feature films, among them Fack ju Göhte 3. The raw concrete facade gave the building a look that film crews found useful for scenes set in unusual or dramatic environments.
