Quartiersplatz Theresienhöhe, Public square and park in Untersendling district, Munich, Germany.
The Quartiersplatz Theresienhöhe is a public square and park in the Untersendling district built above former exhibition grounds and railway tracks. The site includes grassy areas, playgrounds, and various recreational spaces with different surfaces and landscape features.
The project emerged in the early 2000s through an international design competition that selected a team including Catherine Venart, Topotek1, and Rosemarie Trockel. The transformation converted an industrial wasteland into a modern neighborhood park.
The square serves as a gathering place for the neighborhood, connecting different residential areas. Visitors find specially designed play sculptures and landscape elements that encourage people to spend time here.
The square is easily accessible on foot and offers different areas for relaxing and playing. Visitors should note that various ground surfaces and elevation changes structure the site.
The planting features a distinctive row of poplars along the southeastern edge and a pine grove with five-meter-tall trees to the north. These natural boundaries shape the square's character and create distinct zones.
