Haus Rothenberge, Protected villa in Wettringen, Germany
Haus Rothenberge is a villa in Wettringen situated on elevated ground with views across the Münsterland region. The building is surrounded by extensive park grounds that slope gently away from the main structure.
The villa was constructed in 1921 based on French chateau design and was originally owned by a Dutch family. In 1960 a foundation acquired the property and has operated it since then.
Since 1962, the villa functions as a seminar house for the University of Münster Society, hosting numerous students, doctoral candidates, and academic conferences.
The building was converted into guest accommodations after major renovations from 2017 onward, with capacity for up to 28 visitors. Modern bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen facilities make comfortable stays possible.
The roof design reflects an uncommon construction method typical of French chateau architecture from the early 1900s. This architectural feature draws attention from visitors interested in historical building techniques.
