Genscher-Haus

The Genscher-Haus is a late-classical residence from the 1860s in Halle that now serves as a museum exploring German reunification. The exhibition spans multiple rooms and documents the political path of Hans-Dietrich Genscher and the events that led to unity.

The building was constructed in the mid-1800s as a residence and later transformed into a memorial to a significant statesman. Conversion to a museum occurred in 2010 with comprehensive renovation work to prepare the spaces for historical exhibition.

The exhibition shows how German reunification and European integration became visible in daily life and politics. Visitors experience here what role diplomacy and decisions played in people's lives.
