Paul Müller-Kaempff established this guesthouse and studio space in 1894, initially providing workspace for female art students who faced restrictions at traditional academies.
The residence supports professional artists in visual arts, literature, dance, and composition through its scholarship program and dedicated workspace environment.
Monthly open house events occur on the last Sunday, allowing visitors to participate in studio discussions and experience current artists' work presentations.
During 1944-1945, the building shifted from its artistic purpose to shelter refugees, before returning to its creative mission under different administrative entities.
