Ostholstein-Museum Eutin, Art museum in Eutin, Germany.
The Ostholstein-Museum Eutin occupies a former stable building at Schlossplatz and displays paintings, graphics, sculptures, and photography from its permanent collection. The exhibition space presents a variety of artworks in different styles and techniques that represent various periods and approaches.
The building served as the royal stables around 1800, when Eutin was at its cultural height as an important regional center. It was later converted to house a museum dedicated to preserving the artistic heritage of the area.
The collection reflects how artists from different periods interpreted local subjects and the landscape around Ostholstein. The works on display show the artistic preferences and aesthetic values that developed in this region over time.
The museum operates Tuesday through Sunday and on holidays, with guided tours available for groups outside regular opening hours. The location at Schlossplatz makes it easy to combine with visits to other historical sites nearby.
Since May 2022, the museum operates a second exhibition space at Kloster Cismar about 25 kilometers away. This additional location allows the institution to display larger special exhibitions and collections that would not fit at the main site.
