Papierfabrik Hainsberg

Papierfabrik Hainsberg is an industrial complex with red brick walls spanning multiple production halls located directly on the Weißeritz River. The facility uses the river water as part of its manufacturing process and consists of several interconnected buildings arranged along the riverbank.

The factory was established in 1838 and initially operated as a modest enterprise with a small workforce. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries it expanded into a major regional employer while continuously adopting new production technologies.

The name comes from the village of Hainsberg that once stood here. Walking through the site, you can sense how deeply the factory became woven into the daily rhythm of the community over many generations.

The factory is located at Dresdner Straße 321 in Freital and is accessible by public transportation. Keep in mind this is an active manufacturing facility, so visits may be limited or require advance notice to the operators.

The factory specializes in recycled paper production and sources exclusively from waste paper. This commitment earned it the Blue Angel environmental certification, recognizing its sustainable manufacturing approach.
