Lederfabrik Sohre

Lederfabrik Sohre is an early 20th-century industrial complex with multiple buildings arranged for leather processing and refinement. The site contains workshop buildings, storage halls, and administrative spaces laid out according to the practical needs of production.

The factory was founded in 1909 and operated under F.G. Sohre AG. It played an important role in Freital's industrial development throughout the 20th century.

The buildings reflect leather-making traditions that shaped the daily work of generations of craftspeople who labored here. The arrangement of workshops and equipment still shows how production flowed through the facility.

The complex is located at Poisentalstraße 19-21 in Freital and is well marked on local maps. Plan to spend time walking around all the buildings to understand the full layout and structure of the site.

This is one of the few remaining leather factories in the entire Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge region. It serves as a rare example of what industrial production looked like in this area.
