Leuchtturm Schausende

Leuchtturm Schausende is a white lighthouse on the coast of the Flensburg Firth, rising approximately 27 meters high. The structure has a cylindrical form and is surrounded by walking areas with views across the water.

The structure was built to make passage through the firth safer for seafarers and has shaped the coastal landscape since then. It continues to function today as a navigation aid for ship traffic.

The lighthouse marks the Glücksburg coastline and serves locals and visitors as a recognizable landmark. The structure reflects the deep connection between this harbor region and maritime traditions.

Access is via the Am Leuchtturm area in Glücksburg, where parking is available. The paths around the structure are easy to walk in normal conditions.

The beacon emits alternating white, red, and green light signals in a pattern that repeats every six seconds. This special system allows navigators to quickly identify the structure even in thick fog or darkness.
