Hafen Orsoy

Hafen Orsoy is an inland port terminal in Rheinberg equipped with cranes for handling river cargo vessels. The facility spans along the Rhine and connects water and rail transport through integrated infrastructure.

The port was built in the early 20th century and officially opened in 1910 with reinforced quay walls for commercial shipping. Its construction made the location an important point for transferring goods transported along the Rhine.

The old warehouse buildings along the quay once housed different factories, including a cigar and tobacco operation and an Underberg liqueur production facility. These structures show how the port connected to local manufacturing and shaped economic activity in the area.

The port operates year-round and can be visited, though facilities are limited since it functions as a working site. It is best to contact the operator before exploring the grounds to confirm access is allowed.

The facility features three double-track rail lines with integrated loading equipment that allow multiple vessels and trains to be loaded and unloaded at the same time. This combined water and rail infrastructure makes it a distinctive example of multimodal freight handling in the region.
